Privacy Notice
Sicura Partners respects the privacy of every individual whose personal information it handles. This Privacy Notice explains how Sicura Partners collects, stores and uses personal information.
Where used in this Notice, “Sicura”, or “the Firm”, shall mean Sicura Partners GmbH, Fridbachweg 3, 6300 Zug, Switzerland, which is the controller of your personal information. This Notice is based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection and, where they apply, the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the UK General Data Protection Regulation, each as amended or supplemented (the “Data Protection Laws”).

Personal information of business contacts
If you have had contact with Sicura, for example from a previous meeting or making contact with the Firm, we may store limited amounts of personal information relating to you, such as your name, job title, employer organisation, (potential) transactions that we have discussed and contact details. We obtain this information from you directly, from our clients and professional network, and from publicly available and commercially licensed sources, such as company websites, professional networking platforms and investor databases. We will collect and store this personal information for the purposes of:
- providing periodic business updates, for example regarding transactions which we have completed, or market research;
- contacting you about companies, funds or transactions that may be relevant to your professional role;
- organising meetings between you and Sicura representatives;
- inviting you to events; and
- similar communication of a professional nature.
The personal information we hold about business contacts may be shared with:
- companies who process personal information on Sicura’s behalf, for example providers of hosting, customer relationship management and email services;
- clients of Sicura, where an introduction between you and the client is being considered or made; and
- professional advisors, for example accountants, lawyers, or other consultants.
In accordance with the Data Protection Laws, our legal basis for collecting and storing personal information about you is that such processing is necessary for our legitimate interests in running and promoting our business.
You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time, by replying to any message from us or by writing to info@sicurapartners.com.
Personal information of suppliers and professional advisors
If you are a supplier or professional adviser to Sicura, we will store limited amounts of personal information relating to you, including your name, job title, qualifications, employer organisation, (potential) transactions that we have discussed and contact details. We will store this personal information for the purposes of administering and maintaining records of services or advice we have received, commissioning further services, and for other purposes of this nature.
The personal information we hold about suppliers and professional advisors may be shared with:
- companies who process personal information on Sicura’s behalf; and
- professional advisors, for example accountants, lawyers, or other consultants.
In accordance with the Data Protection Laws, our legal basis for storing personal information that you provide to us is that such storage is necessary for our legitimate interests in running and promoting our business.
Personal information of actual and potential management teams
If you are involved in a transaction on which Sicura advises we may store personal information such as: your CV, details of your previous employment history, your financial status and dealings, and results of other due diligence carried out. This information is collected and stored in order to:
- assess and administer actual and/or potential transactions;
- comply with our regulatory and legal obligations, including assessing and managing risk;
- safeguard our legal rights and interests; and
- seek and receive advice from our professional advisors.
The personal information we hold about actual and/or potential management teams may be shared with:
- companies who process personal information on Sicura’s behalf; and
- other persons who have an interest or involvement in, or who are considering an interest or involvement in, a transaction on which Sicura is advising, for example investors or acquirers or potential acquirers of such businesses.
In accordance with the Data Protection Laws, our legal basis for collecting and storing personal information about you is that its processing is necessary for our legitimate interests in running our business. Should we enter into a transaction with your involvement, it will also be necessary to process your personal information for the purpose of performing that contract and to comply with our regulatory and legal obligations.
Mandatory provision of information
We shall explain to you when the provision of particular information is mandatory and the possible consequences of not providing particular information. Sicura will only process the personal information you provide to Sicura for the purposes listed above.
Sensitive or special category personal data
Different rules apply to data concerning race, ethnic origin, political opinions or beliefs, religious or other similar beliefs, trade union membership, physical or mental health, sexual life and any offences committed and sentences or court proceedings relating to actual or potential offences — these are all called sensitive or special category personal data. Please do not send us sensitive personal data as we do not need it.
International transfers of personal information
Sicura has operations in Switzerland and the United Kingdom and uses service providers located in other countries, including the United States. As such, the personal information that we hold may be transferred to and stored at a country outside of your country of residence, including countries outside of Switzerland, the EEA and the United Kingdom. In the event that Sicura transfers personal information to a country that does not provide an adequate level of data protection, we ensure that those transfers take place in accordance with the Data Protection Laws, for example by entering into standard contractual clauses with the recipient.
Visitors to our website
Our website is hosted by a third-party hosting provider, which records technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the time of your visit in server logs in order to deliver and secure the website. Fonts are loaded from a third-party font service, which receives your IP address when a page loads. Our website does not use analytics or advertising cookies.
How long we keep personal information
We keep personal information for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this Notice, and afterwards for as long as required by statutory retention obligations or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. If you ask us to stop contacting you, we keep only the minimum information needed to respect that request.
Your rights
Subject to the Data Protection Laws that apply to you, you have the right to:
- ask for access to, and a copy of, the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct or delete it, or to restrict how we use it;
- object to our use of it, including for professional communications, at any time; and
- ask for it to be handed over to you or to another controller in a commonly used format.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, in particular the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner in Switzerland, the supervisory authority of your country of residence in the EEA, or the Information Commissioner’s Office in the United Kingdom.

We may update this Notice from time to time. The version published on this website is the one that applies.
